Looking For Lange Pop-Up Exhibition and Community Scavenger Hunt

Date: April 23–May 31, 2022
Time: Friday–Sunday, 11 AM to 4 PM
Location: Headquarters and Exhibition Gallery, 161 Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor, New York

In celebration of the launch of The Art of Edward Lange interactive website, visit Preservation Long Island’s Exhibition Gallery to view a select number of original artworks by Edward Lange (1846–1912) who painted homesteads, local businesses, railroad depots, and harbor front in precise detail during the 1870s and 80s. This special installation is part of the Looking for Lange community-wide scavenger hunt sponsored by the Town of Huntington Historic Partnership (THHP).

Beginning April 23, and throughout the month of May, visit local cultural organizations and find the places Edward Lange captured in his artworks across Huntington. Three participants will receive a collection of THHP giveaways! All you need to do is snap a photo at one of the scavenger hunt locations and message your image to Preservation Long Island on Instagram or Facebook or by email to [email protected].

"Cold Spring Harbor. The name rings a bell even in those unfamiliar with Long Island. It’s home to the world famous genetics lab. It was the name of Billy Joel’s first album. Lindsay Lohan grew up here (Well, she’s still growing up, but we won’t go there…) And John Lennon had a home here." Read More
